It’s been a busy year with lots of finished quilts and other items. Here are a few of my favourites.
In March I went and saw Jenny Doan from the Missouri Star Quilt Company and was absolutely amazed by how easy she makes quilting. I was so inspired that I made this cot quit. It did not stay in my possession for long because a lady at my hubbies work was pregnant and he gifted it to her.
I did a few different classes throughout the year to stretch my skills. I did a lampshade class at Voodoo Rabbit and made this lampshade I gifted it to my mum for mothers day. I really enjoyed the process but of course haven’t made anymore since the class.
Then of course there was my selvage lone star quilt. This was so fun to make and I love using up scraps. It was also dog approved.
I love this Rising Star quilt designed by Ron Doan, Jenny’s hubbie. I love the black background, its different, it’s unusual and I love the pop of lime green.
Now, I think this is my all time favourite finish for the year. My Sue Daley, Swiss Willow design paperpieced made with Libs Elliott Wildside, Tattooed and When Sparks Fly fabrics into a cushion. Its fits in perfectly with my other cushions on the couch in my quilting studio.
Last but not least, i did a shibori dyeing class and made this quilt top. Loved this class so much, cant wait to experiment with this process some more.
I also used some of the scraps to make some embroidery hoops and rope bowls.
Thats a wrap of 2018, and looking forward to pushing my skills further in 2019.
Keep on sewing,
