Back in June it was my 10th anniversary of being a patchworker, so I decided to make 100 blocks in 100 days and I decided on 10″ squares.
I have a huge stash of scraps, just like everyone else and I love making scrappy quilts so it was an easy decision to make.
I’m new to improv piecing so thought this was a good project to practice on.
These were my first four blocks made on a quilting retreat at Mount Alford.
I really enjoyed making this quilt, its was fun to just pick up a piece of fabric and sew it to another piece whether it was an exact match or not. I like mixing up the colours and the design of each block.
My design wall was a rainbow of colours.
I also stayed on track on pieced the 100 blocks in 100 days.
Here is the finished quilt top, photographed in front of the Story Bridge, Brisbane. Also approved by Miss Molly the French Bulldog puppy.
I haven’t quilted it yet, I’m still waiting for the quilt to talk to me about which quilt pattern to use.
Keep on sewing
