Selvage quilt

For years I have been collecting the selvages off the fabric I use for quilting, I was just collecting them and had no idea what I was going to do with them. Then I found on Pinterest a tutorial for a pillow using selvages and I thought what a great idea. So I dug out my pile of selvages, got some interfacing, Moda solid and started sewing my selvages together.

Sew, I made two different blocks, a square and a half square triangle to make a star.

The blocks come together quite quickly.

I loved how this star turned out and I still had heaps of selvages left. Sew, I made four more.

I even had enough leftover blocks that I made a couple of cushions.

I wasnt wasn’t sure how to quilt it so it sat in my studio for a couple of months. Than at Easter I finally decided to do a chevron pattern on it and now it is finished. Woo hoo. Even the boys like it.

Keep on sewing
